Traditional Membership. Therapists in private practice (part-time or full-time) in counseling, social worker, marriage and family therapy, or psychology. Therapists pay a membership fee equal to what they charge for one hour of therapy. (Dues are "on the honor system" and range from $50 to $150, with an average of $85.)
Affiliate/Agency Membership. Open to those who are not currently in private practice, those retired from private practice or those who work for an agency, this category of membership offers therapists an opportunity to take advantage of APPT's inexpensive continuing education opportunities as well as access to networking. Dues for this category are $30 per year.
Student Membership. Because private practice requires licensure, students are encouraged to join APPT for the continuing education and networking benefits offered. Student membership is $25 per year.
